Be brilliant, play brilliant, and become versed in craps the ideal way!
Dice and dice games date all the way back to the Crusades, but modern craps is approximately a century old. Current craps evolved from the 12th Century English game called Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the ancestry of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It is theorized that Sir William’s soldiers enjoyed Hazard during a blockade on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the castle’s name.
Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when expelled by the British, the French relocated down south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they took their favored game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns streamlined the game and made it fair mathematically. It is said that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which is derived from the term for the bad luck toss of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi scows and across the nation. A great many think the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of current craps. In 1907, Winn assembled the current craps layout. He added the Don’t Pass line so players can bet on the dice to lose. At another time, he developed the spaces for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
